A simplified model for SO2 generation during spontaneous combustion of coal gangue was put forward and validated using the measured data. Using proposed model, effects initial temperature inside fresh air supply on were discussed. The results showed that, higher could accelerate oxidation rate FeS2 increase maximum concentration SO2. If increased by about 37%, total 166%. Fresh had less significant effect FeS2. Besides, this method provides useful prototype to predict hazardous materials, such as CO, NOx, chlorine gangue.
